Equipment Protection Fee (EPF)

The renter may elect to purchase the Equipment Protection Fee (“EPF”) at checkout in lieu of providing a Certificate of Insurance. The EPF is equal to 12% of the total daily rental rate and is a NON-REFUNDABLE service charge.

The EPF provides limited protection for accidental damage only and reduces the Renter’s financial responsibility for covered accidental damage to a maximum deductible of $1,000 per incident.

COVERED ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE

The EPF covers only the following:

1. Minor accidental damage occurring during normal, careful operation.
2. Small dents, scratches, broken lights, cosmetic damage.
3. Minor hydraulic leaks or hose failures not caused by misuse.
4. Damage caused by latent mechanical defects not observable during inspection.
5. Manufacturer defects discovered during operation.

THE EPF DOES NOT COVER

The EPF does NOT cover theft, loss, disappearance, vandalism, unauthorized use, improper operation, misuse, abuse, neglect, overturn, collision, flooding, fire, weather exposure, failure to secure equipment, or damage caused by unqualified operators.

The EPF also does NOT cover the following categories of damage:

• Track or tire damage caused by spinning, skidding, or hazardous terrain;
• Undercarriage damage caused by rocks, debris, or improper operation.
• Hydraulic hose or fitting damage caused by snagging, impact, or overextension.
• Engine or cooling system damage caused by low fluids, clogged filters, or overheating.
• Damage resulting from continuing to operate equipment after a malfunction begins.
• Damage resulting from the use of unapproved attachments.
• Damage caused by operating while impaired by drugs, alcohol, or intoxicants.
